US Visa Freeze एक बार फिर global immigration policy में हलचल मचा रहा है। United States government ने 21 January से 75 देशों के नागरिकों के लिए immigrant visas पर indefinite pause लगाने का फैसला किया है। इस लिस्ट में Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Iran और Russia जैसे देश शामिल हैं।
हालांकि, यह रोक sirf permanent settlement (immigrant visas) पर लागू होगी। Student visa, tourist visa, business visa और other non-immigrant categories फिलहाल पहले की तरह जारी रहेंगी।

State Department के spokesperson Tommy Pigott ने CNN से बातचीत में कहा:
“Those immigrants who might take advantage of American welfare and public benefits will be stopped by the United States.”

इस policy के तहत जिन देशों पर असर पड़ेगा, उनमें शामिल हैं:

Africa: Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Nigeria
Europe & Others: Russia, Belarus, Kosovo, Moldova”
US State Department का दावा है कि इन देशों से आने वाले immigrants में future welfare dependency risk ज्यादा देखा गया है।
Immigration Process अब और Tough
US Visa Freeze से पहले ही November 2025 में embassies को instructions दिए गए थे कि वे applicants की financial background, education, skills, health और English proficiency को ज्यादा strictly check करें।
अब officers यह भी देखेंगे:
Past या present welfare use
Family size और income level
Ability to survive without government aid
Medical tests और background screening पहले से ही mandatory थे।
